Q Cup : Always search for the best

Q Cup was established in June 2013 by Founder, Yu Tack Yuen (CQI Q grader) as the first Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) certified laboratory in Malaysia that provides professional coffee courses. Since our inception, we have also collaborated with internationally certified instructors such as Emma Markland Webster, Mane Alves & Bronwen Serna to further elevate the local coffee culture.

Q Cup, as the first online bidder in Malaysia able to bid and, consequently, win in the 2013 and 2014 coffee auctions, as well as in the 2014 direct trade. These prestigious wins allow Q Cup to roast and serve a list of highly sought after coffee beans from Don Pepe Estate, Carmen Estate, Hacienda La Esmaeralda Geisha, Finca Santa Teresa, Casa Ruiz Bourbon and the world’s most expensive coffee in 2013 – El Injerto Estate Mocca #EI01 (costing at US$210/pound with only 16kg available). We also brought in rare single origins to coffee connoisseurs locally such as Bourbon Pointu, Saint Helena Sandy Bay and 90+ Maker Series Semeon Abay.

Due to popular demand in specialty coffee bean, Q Cup blends were introduced and kick-start its Roast-On-Demand coffee supply in June 2014. And 2 years later, Q Cup Roastery Caféwas officially launched for Malaysians to head down to the branch in Imbi to indulge in the exquisite roasts, serving coffee beans origin mainly from Panama, Ethiopia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Kenya, Guatemala, Indonesia, Honduras etc.

And in early 2018, Q Cup has been selected as the event organizer for International Coffee Roast Master Championship in Malaysia for 3 consecutive years, beginning 2018 to 2020. The goal of the event is to host a very professional
standard of competition internationally, promoting coffee and increasing the knowledge of coffee to the world and it was a great success for us in holding the first roasting championship in Malaysia which was happened on 23 – 25 July 2018.

Q Cup kiosk (Genting Highland) was opened in early February 2019 to introduce our good specialty coffee not only locally but also internationally.
