JAS certified organic matcha produced in famous tea producing area – Makinohara, Shizuoka, Japan. Finely ground with stone grinder, it easily dissolve in water without whisk. Makinohara green tea stands out from other normal green tea for a special deep steaming process that puts more nutrients into the tea, and produces a tea with greater flavor. Deep steeping process gives beautiful deep green color to matcha power, and also remains its great green color for both beverage and baking. Matcha powder is packed in 30g each in aluminum pack to keep its freshness longer.

Tea grown in Makinohara has fine taste due to the clean air, abundant sunshine, and sufficient rainfall. No chemicals are used to enhance the tea plant. Where the plants are grown, plant matter is placed around the bottom of the tea plants to provide the plants with extra nutrients, thus giving more flavor to the tea leaves.
What makes Makinohara tea stand out from your normal green tea is a special deep steaming process that puts more nutrients into the tea and produces a tea with greater flavor. Deep steaming tea leaves extracts umami from the thick leaves. The umami holds the nutrients, and you can taste it when tea leaves are immersed in hot water.
JAS, or Japanese Agricultural Standards, is a certification and labeling system that provides national quality standards in the field of agricultural, forestry, fisheries and food industry. JAS is established by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The JAS Standards for organic plants and organic processed foods of plant origin were established in 2000 on the basis with the Guidelines for the Production, Processing, Labelling and Marketing of Organically Produced Foods which were adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The organic JAS logo can only be applied by registered business entities that have been certified by the Accredited certification body to verify that organic foods are produced in compliance with JAS.
